I've mentioned how much I enjoy painting little curvy houses, and with this commission I got to paint three! A customer from my Kirkland Market came to me hoping I could do a painting of their's and their neighbors' vacation homes. They gave me a few photos and the freedom to change things a bit if it helped the overall feel of the design. The end result was a very whimsical version of their home away from home.
Beatrix Tribute Bed (detail)
A woman who read Beatrix Potter stories to her daughter regularly while she was growing up asked me if I could make a Beatrix Potter themed doll bed for her new grand baby all the way in South Africa. Once I completed the painting she made bedding to match and sent it off to be loved by her grand daughter.
Family Landscape

Mercer Island, WA
This table was commissioned by a very sweet woman who came to me with a mallia envolope full of clippings, drawings, colors, and other inspriations she wanted to have all come together onto her dining room table. Her wish list was rather long and varied a great deal on subject matter. Everything from balloons, feathers, rainbows, a favorite saying, ribbons, birds, butterflies, a star of david, and even several sketches drawn by her husband, and each of her grandchildren, were all intened to end up on one piece of furniture. After a bit of brainstorming and LOTS of painting, the end result is a cherished story of their family history which they can enjoy every time they sit down to share a meal.
